On the 1910 census she indicated she had given birth to 13 children in total, but only 7 were still living. Daughter Lue Ella died in 1899, the names of her other deceased children are unknown. They appear to have died at a very young age as their are only 9 children that have been identified through census or vital records.

Who are her parents? Based on the location of her marriage and her age, she could be a daughter of Ephraim McLemore and Hannah Hudspeth. However, there is no indication that they had a daughter named Mary, unless she is actually the daughter called "Sally McLemore" in a transcription of Ephraim's Will.
James McKinney writes that Ephraim's eldest son, Sterling, paid taxes on 200 acres of land on Skaggs Creek as early as 1806, and may have been there earlier. McKinney also writes that in April 1805, William Bethuram , a neighbor of Sterling's, married a "Sarah McLemore. It is not known if this was Sterlings' youngest sister, Sally, or a daughter of Sterling's."
She is listed a mary Kelley (Polley?) age 21 on the 1880 Dade county, MO census, in the home of her parents. No spouse or children are listed with her.
Not shown as a child of Moses McLemore by the Rev. William P. McLemore, family archivist. Mark Freeman shows that she married (1) Isam LEWIS in Copiah County, Mississippi and later married (2) H.C WOODS on 20 Dec 1853.
Bonnie Seiler shows that she married Alexander SMITH on 20 October 1868 in Cumberland County, NC

Victoria Mclemore writes: "Mamie lived with her sister until her death. My husband remembers her. My husband believes that neither one ever married or had children. The census document shows the same with them living with their mother until their later years. The sister Laura also had a nick name that she went by. My husband didn't know that they were sisters he just knew that they lived together and were elderly."
In another note she writes: "My husband said that Aunt Mamie and Aunt Dell live together and therefore we assume that Laura's nickname was Dell since he called them both Aunt. As mentioned before neither had been married to had any children to the best of his knowledge."
She lost her hearing as a result of a childhood illness. Family tradition says she named her children Beadie and Worth because these were the only names she could say. From the ANCESTORS OF STUART DAVID CHILDRESS.
She may have married a SEWELL after 1880. A death certificate can be found for Matilda Jane SEWELL, age 89 (born ca 1842) on Aug 12 in Moore County, N.C. Parents were listed as "not known." She died in McColl, S.C, a widow, of Pneumonia. Informant was J. T. Sewell of McColl. She was buried at the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Matilda Jane's younger brother, Hayes McLemore, also was buried in McColl, South Carolina.
Shown by Ann and Eldon McLemore of Kansas as a son of John McLemore and Winnie Baltice, and sibling to Wesley, Rueben, Dorcas, John and Robert.
Instead shown by Mark Freeman and others as a son of Amos and Equilla McLemore.
It is assumed, based on the reasearch of Ann and Eldon McLemore, that he is likely a sibling of Reuben and Dorcus McLemore, also born in South Carolina within a few years of Matthew, and also living in Copiah County, Mississippi at the the time of the 1850 census. However, his parents have not been proven.
Ann and Eldon note that Rueben McLemore filed a bond for $16,000 in Copiah. Named on the bond were Elizabeth McLemore, Virginia Marsh, Mathew McLemore and Uriah Millsap, dated 5 Dec 1860. Signed by all except Virginia.
The 1860 Copiah County, Mississippi slave census shows that M. McLemore owned 8 slaves. Other slaveowners with the McLemore surname in Copiah County were John McLemore, with 1 slave, and Reuben McLemore, with 5.
Nicole Martin posted the following to the Genforum McLemore Surname board:
I have Reuben as son of John McLemore. Siblings, if correct, are Robert, Wesley,Reuben, Matthew, John, and Dorcus. There may be more sisters. I find John McLemore in Hinds County in 1830 and Rankin County in 1840. I believe he is the John McLemore listed in the 1810 and 1820 census in Barnwell District, SC. I also do not believe this is the son of Major John McLemore. I believe that his brothers (at least) were Howell and Matthew (see 1810 Barnwell Census). One of Matthew's grandsons, Howell W came to Hinds County to marry and then later returned to Barnwell. Later, Matthew's daughter Sarah Page moves to Copiah County. I believe Howell is the one that ended up in Emanuel County, GA.

There is a Mattie E. SPARKS, born 17 Oct 1898, buried at the Aldridge Grove Church of Christ. Ancestry.com links this record to Mattie E. McLemore, born ca Oct 1894-1896. The husband of Mattie Sparks is shown as Luther N. SPARKS (1896-1951) who also has a memorial on FindAGrave. As the obituary of their son, Woodie Sparks, shows his mother as Mattie McLemore Sparks, so it is assumed this is indeed the same person, even through the year of birth is not exactly the same.
Pleasant McLemore, in a letter to his niece Irene, recalled that "As had his brother Felix, Bob had the same problem (romance), so he sent his daughter Maud to me...". Pleasant did not appear as fond of his niece Maud as he was of niece Minnie.
My mother, Maurine McLemore Butler, passed away on February 5, 2007 in Jackson, Tennessee. She was 92.
She was a descendant of the Scottish immigrant Abraham McLemore and was born in Gibson County, TN. Her parents were James Knox McLemore and Lennie Ethel Luckey. Grandparents were James Knox Polk McLemore (1843-1908) and Margaret Caroline Jackson (1855-1932)
Maurine McLemore married Fred I. Butler in Gibson County in 1935.
Some of you may be familiar with my mother, and this is to help you update your family history information. She was quite a woman.

When he completed his registration for the draft during World War I, he was farming for himself in Rogersville, Alabama, also his place of birth. He had a wife and one child as dependents. He was show as Medium heighth and build, with brown eyes and light hair. The registration form was completed on June 5, 1917.
I have ASSUMED that based on the 1900 Limestone County, Alabama Census, McLin is the son of the Joel H. McLemore of Limestone/Lauderdale Alabama , a son of Maclin B. McLemore. Maclin B.'s son Joel is the correct age, continued to live in proximity to his parents and siblings, and seemed to have named his son after his father. Additionally, McLin's widow is living next to a Maclin B. McLemore at the time of the 1930 census. This older Maclin B. McLemore would have been a brother to Joel H. McLemore and Uncle to McLin. However, MaryLynn Santa shows McLins' father as Joel Henry, whereas the Joel H. McLemore of Limestone/Lauderdale might actually be Joel Halbert McLemore.
Other researchers have not drawn a conclusion as to the parentage of Joel H. McLemore, so my conclusion may be premature, and further work should be done to prove this. It might instead be possible that McLin is instead the son of Joel H. McLemore of Hickman County, TN, and grandson of Joel McLemore Sr and his wife Harriet McLearen. The location and age of this other Joel H. McLemore, however, are not as good of a match.

Her name was missing from the 1880 census enumeration.
Pleasant McLemore wrote to his grandniece Irene that Minnie's father, Felix, "sent her to me to break up a romance with a young man who he didn't approve of, I don't know if his plan proved a succes of not...." in a later letter he added that "my wife and I became fond of her when she was visiting us in San Antonio."
Her daughter Maurine reported that Minnie Bell was never referred to as Mrs. Gaines, but always "Minnie Bell." She was five feet tall, weighed only 89 pounds, and had a 25 inch waist, being "prissey as she could be."
She was a life long Methodist and very religious, not approving of her father owning a saloon, refering to it only as "father's business."
She died after a fall when she was 92, hurting her ribs and never recovering fully.

Moses was the great grandfather of Maj. Amos McLemore, C.S.A., whom was the subject of Dr. Rudy Leverett's book "Ole Rosinheels: A Genealogical Sketch of the Famil of Major Amos McLemore, 27th Mississippi Infantry Regiment, C.S.A." James McLemore notes that a more particular outline of the activities and descendants of Wright McLemore can be found in that book (James L. McLemore, III, p 51).
James McLemore has shown the date of death for Moses as circa 1761.
If the references below, however, are for the SAME Moses McLemore, then he was alive until at least 1783.
Robert McLemore Butler shows that Moses McLemore and Thomas AMES were witnesses to a deed between Abraham HUGGINS & Mary, his wife, to Howell HARTGRAVE dated 1769. (Deed Book 4, page 159)
I also have in my notes, unsourced, a reference to a deed between Bedreadan CARRAWAY and Moses MACLEMORE dated 19 Aug 1775, with 20 pds being paid for 100 acres. Ref: MACLEMORE, Mose, Grantee Page 559, book 3
In 1779, Moses McLEMORE and Thomas LIGHTWOOD were witnesses to a deed between James THALLEY to Lewis WILLIAMSON (Deed Book 6, pg 448), and on 1 Apr 1780 Grant #160 was to Moses McLEMORE for 188 acres on the S W side of Hoes Swamp (Book 41, pg 63) (Courtesy Robert McLemore Butler).

A subscriber to Genforum (email address marked private), posted the following reply to a query about Moses that I posted:
This Moses McLemore is the grandson of William, but it is uncertain if his father was Wright or Richard. He died in Darlington County,(Old Cheraws District) SC in December 1787. Moses was living there when he died and his son, Amos, applied for letters of administration on his estate. Does anyone have any information on the children of this Moses?
James L. McLemore, III writes that for in the third editon of "Ole Rosinheels" Rudy began to doubt if Moses was Wright's son and suspect that he was Richard's. However, Jim still tends to follow the 2nd edition, because Moses spent most of his life with the other sons of Wright, first in Edgecombe County NC, the in the Duplin/Sampson Counties area in southeast North Carolina only at the end of his life did he apparently move across the line into northeast South Carolina to die in December 1787 in the area where Richard had died in 1771, and where Richard's children still lived. Leverett found good arguments on both sides of the issue (in the 3rd edition), but Jim still tends to go with Wright as Moses' father.
(Medical):A direct male descendant of Moses participated in the Morrision yDNA study.
The main purpose of this study was to prove that the immigrant founders of this family in America, James Macklemore and Abraham Macklemore, were brothers. If brothers, then the y-DNA of the direct male descendants of both men would match. However, instead of confirming this, it appears that we have AT LEAST two distinct yDNA groups, with three additional potential lines. The first cluster of matching yDNA has ten members, who are part of the R1b1a2 haplogroup (highlighted on the spreadsheet in salmon). The R1b DNA haplogroup, is the most common in Western Europe. The direct descendant of Moses McLemore was in he R1ba2 cluster, along with two other participants who trace their lines back to the immigrant Abraham Macklemore, the husband of Mary Young. If both these members are correct in their paper trails, AND if Amos can be proven to be a great-grandson of James Macklemore, then the assumption that James and Abraham have a common paternal ancestor is correct as descendants of both men share the same yDNA. The other six members of this first cluster all have the McLemore surname, and all can trace their lineages back to McLemore men who predate the Civil War, but have not conclusively linked themselves back to either James or Abraham.
See Morrison/McLemore DNA study results for Group O:
Paraphrased from "Ole Rosinheels" Moses and brother Richard McLemore were born in SC, and probably moved from Giles Co., TN to Wayne Co., MS at the end of hostilities in the War of 1812. They settled in that part of Wayne County which, in 1819, became Covington County and, still later, in 1826, became Jones County. They were both listed in the 1816 census of Wayne County, but neither was on the 1810 census of the same area. They settled in the Leaf River country of what is now Jones, Perry, Forrest and Covington counties, in south-eastern Mississippi. They lived in close proximity, and John McLemore joined them in 1820. In 1836, Richard moved to Lauderdale County.
The following transcription is courtesy of Melba Gene McLemore, and relates to the military service of Moses during the Creek War:

Melba Gene McLemore found a book titled "Proceedings of the Fifty-Ninth Annual Sessio of the Alabama Baptist Association," which recorded the activities of the delegates from the churches that met at the church at Pine Level, Montgomery county, at 11 o'clock on Friday, October 11, 1878. Eld. McQueen presented the report of the Committee on Documents, and included in this report was that "Elim church (Montgomery county) reports the death of Deacon Moses McLemore." (page 7). A few pages later, in a report on obituaries "Since the last session of this body, four of the faithful workers in the Master's cause-Deacons R. H. Lee, Thomas W. Dunklin, F. L. Ellis, and Moses McLemore-have left our ranks for a purer clime. They have finished the work assigned them to do on the earth, and their light spirits have taken "homeward flight" to the land of rest. These all died in the faith, as they had lived, and haivng "used the office of Deason well," have "purchased to themselves a "good degree and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus." "Blessed are the deat that die in the Lord, yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors."
Resolved, first, that we bow in humble submission to this dispensation of God's providence...
Resolved, second, that we tender our heartfelt sympathies to the families of our lamented brethren, praying that the smiles of Heavan may settle on them.
Respectfully submitted,
B. A. Jackson, Chm'n

McLemore came with his parents to Alabama about 1820, received a common school education, and married Margaret Caffey, who died leaving three daughters. In 1854 Mr. Mclemore married again, and spent the rest of his life in the vicinity of Moses McLemore's present home. He owned a fine plantation, and negroes, was never in public life nor performed any military service. He was well read and had a large fund of information. He was for many years a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, and died in 1870, aged fifty-five. His father was the Rev. James McLemore, a Missionary Baptist Minister, who came from Georgia to Alabama about 1820, and followed the ministry in this state for many years. He is said to have built the first church in Montgomery county. He was a Virginian by birth, and died before Moses McLemore was born, greatly loved by his people. His wife survived him by a number of years. She was an energetic woman, and attended the plantation affairs very successfully. They raised a large family of sons and daughters, only two of the daughters now surviving [ca.1893]. The mother of Moses McLemore is still living. She is a daughter of Jacob and Mary Smith, natives of South Carolina, where they lived all their lives. Mrs. McLemore came to Alabama with an uncle, Daniel Rast, who settled in Lowndes. She is the mother of four Children, viz.: Mary, Moses, Laura A. and Sterling Price. Moses was educated at the county schools and at Montgomery, and at the age of seventeen began life for himself as a farmer. He married, in 1890, Annie Benom Tanner, daughter of L. H. and Ophelia A. Tanner, who came from Georgia to Alabama. Mr. Tanner died at Union Springs, and Mrs. Tanner is still living. Mrs. McLemore was born in Tuskegee, Ala. Mr. McLemore is one of the leading farmers in the county, owning 2,900 acres of fine farming land. He has followed farming all his life, and for some years he also carried on merchandising, and ran a cotton gin. When he started in life he had but a few hundred dollars, inherited from his father's estate; now he is worth many thousands of dollars, all of which, with the exception just mentioned, he has aquired by his own industry and economy."
