Richard Hooker, Jr. wrote, in 2010, that his father was now " a retired Infantry Colonel living in Preston, MD on the Chesapeake. He is also a Mississippi native and is descended from Samuel B. Hooker, one of six brothers who came west from NC in the late 1700s and ended up in northern Mississippi. We are often asked, but we are not related to General Joe Hooker of Civil war fame."
Obituary below was copied from his FindAGrave memorial page, created by David McInturff.
Colonel RICHARD D. HOOKER, SR. (Ret.) Colonel Richard "Dick" Hooker, Sr. passed away on October 24, 2014 at his home in Preston, MD at the age of 80. A native of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Colonel Hooker graduated with Distinguished Honors and an active duty commission from the ROTC program at the University of Mississippi, where he also served as president of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and editor of the university newspaper.
Colonel Hooker initially served with the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, and then with the 8th Division Airborne Brigade in Mainz, Germany. Following the advanced infantry officer course and one year of Vietnamese language training, he began the first of three tours in Vietnam as an advisor to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Regiment, 5th Army of the Republic of Vietnam Division, followed by assignment as aide-de-camp to General William Westmoreland, Commander U.S. Military Assistance Command Vietnam. He then served as an instructor at the Armor School, Fort Knox, before attending Command and General Staff College and then returning to the Republic of Vietnam to serve as G3 Plans Officer, HQ IIFV, Nha Trang, and subsequently assuming command of the 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry (M), then attached to TF South, Phan Thiet.
Following five years in the Pentagon with the Army Staff and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Colonel Hooker was assigned to the U.S. Military Mission to Iran. This tour of duty was followed by assignments as Army attach? to the Philippines, Deputy Chief of the U.S. Military Training Mission in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and immediately thereafter as Chief, Office of Military Cooperation, Beirut, Lebanon and Senior U.S. Defense Representative to Lebanon.

The Hopkins family moved houses as their business. Emmit was accidentally electrocuted when he was twelve years old. Per "1850 Census Sabine County, Texas with added Family Information and Corrections", Rebecca Hopkins Speights owned 20 slaves. She might instead have been born in North Carolina, or Virginia.
On April 27, 2013, a Historic Marker was dedicated at the Speights-Pratt Cemetery in Sabine County and reads "Rebecca Hopkins Speights (b. 1796) arrived in Sabine County in 1842 as a widow with four sons and a daughter*. She owned about 250 acres including this site, which became a cemetery with her burial in 1857. Sited near the Speights' home, the cemetery was actually on land granted to Mathew Arnold Parker, a Texas Revolutionary veteran and First Chief Justice (County Judge) of Sabine County. Joshua M. Hopkins Speights, buried here, was a State Legislator and County Judge. he and Hampton Pratt were among the first merchants in Hemphill. Of fifty-one marked graves, more than half bear the Speights surname. An unknown number of unmarked graves include Speights family slaves. The Speights-Pratt Cemetery Association manages this historic burial ground. Historic Texas Cemetery - 2010."
*Most family descendants instead have attributed four daugthers to Rebecca, the eldest Susan, dying as an infant. The other daughters generally are shown as Susan Green Speights Low, the wife of Dr. James Low; Amands Melvina Speights, who died at age 14; and Mary A. F. C. Speights Caraway, wife of Nathaniel Caraway. More work should be done to verify the exact family makeup, and ensure which children commonly attributed to William Speights and Rebecca Hopkins were actually born to them. It may also be possible that the historical marker is incorrect, though that seems less likely.

The daughter of Joseph and Mary Sramek Horlivy. (Milligan, p 232). There is a photo of her headstone on FindAGrave. It is embossed Liddia Buzek Korbelik, and has her date of birth and death.
Mike Horlivy, son of Frank and Anna Horlivy, was born in Czechoslavakia February 24, 1877. He passed away at a Lincoln Hospital January 22, 1952, at the aged of n74 years, 10 months, and 23 days.
He came to the Exeter, Neb., community at the age of one year with his parents and had been a resident of this community since that time. Mr. Horlivy farmed near Exeter until his retirement in 1928.
He was united in marriage September 14, 1907 to Mrs. Christina Motis. Six children were born to this union. Mr. Horlivy underwent many hardships, but was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. He will long be remembered for his sunny disposition and kindness.

Left to mourn his passing are one daughter, Mrs. Rose Brown, three sons, Fred, Charles, and Edward, two step-sons, Edmen Motis, and Frank Motis; one sister Mrs. Antonia Ladman, six grandchildren and two great grand-children.
Shown as Andy C. on several WorldConnect trees, in error I believe. His name was very faint and hard to read at the time of the 1910 census.
It appears this is him at the time of the 1920 Census. Named after his grandfather?

On The 1930 census, a 7 year old Enlow Horn was living in the home of Clyde Pascal Horn and Dollie Becton, along with siblings Corine, Oscar and Robert Glenn. Enlow's obituary (below) mentions him being survived by a brother Oscar. The obituary of his sister Corine, lists her survivors as brothers Enlow and Oscar, and that she was predeceased by brother Glenn.
Ancestry.com. U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2015 shows that Henry Enlow Horn, born 25 May 1922 in Bronson, Texas, instead shows Henry was born to Henry E. Horn and Dolly Smith.
To complicate things further, he was linked to parents Joseph Floyd HORN and Bertha Inez POWELL on Family Search. However, they lived in Haskell County versus Sabine County, and don't have a son Oscar, Their son Henry E Horn was also present on the 1920 census, whereas Henry Enlow's date of birth was 1922. So I believe this was done in error.
His FindAGrave memorial page does not link him to parents, nor does in obituary, below.

Living with them were 19 year old Robert Storey, who was shown as the brother of James, and Robert's wife, 26 year old Eula Storey from Tennessee. William Everheart notes that Jane Easley age 65 born TN shows up in the 1860 Van Zandt census with the Murphy family (an original Sabine County family) along with a William Easley. (Email dated 7 Jan 2000 from weverheart@worldnet.att.net). Janie Easley Vance instead shows her place of birth as Georgia, per census records.
