Joseph Edward "Joe Ed" Marshburn, age 79, of Bronson died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 1996, at his residence.
Born Feb. 26, 1917, in Bronson as a son of the late Burton and Maude (Dickerson) Marshburn, he was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church-Bronson. Marshburn was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors: wife, Doris McGown Marshburn of Bronson; a daughter, Shanna Partin of San Augustine; four sons, Bob Marshburn of Beaumont, Mike Marshburn of San Augustine, and Wayne Marshburn and Dwayne Marshburn, both of Bronson; two brothers, J. B. Marshburn of Glendale, California, and Vernon Marshburn of Olathe, Kansas; and four grandchildren, Jason Marshburn, Cole Marshburn, Mila Marshburn, and Bill Partin.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Clarence W. Howell officiating. Interment followed at McGown Cemetery in Geneva.
